FERTILIZER APPLICATION
FERTILIZER APPLICATION
Fertilizers are generally defined as "any material, organic or inorganic, natural or synthetic, which supplies one or more of the chemical elements required for the plant growth." Most fertilizers that are commonly used in agriculture contain the three basic plant nutrients: nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. Some fertilizers also contain certain "micronutrients," such as zinc and other metals, that are necessary for plant growth. Fertilizers with nitrogen present should be applied as closely as possible to the period of maximum crop uptake. Partial application of fertilizer in the spring with small additions as needed can reduce leaching and improve nitrogen uptake. Dakota AGrow uses custom blends for each field to maximize your fertilizer intake and the needs to each individual field. We impregnate our fertilizer with the micronutrients your field needs so it is broadcasted evenly throughout your field. Give us a call today!
360 Y-DROPS
360 Y-DROPS
A few years ago, we started working on split-applying nitrogen during the growing season using the Y-drop system from 360 Yield Center. The Y-drop system offers farmers more flexibility in their nitrogen management on corn. Y-drop is a versatile nutrient placement system that can offer flexibility in timing of N application. Farmers can split their N application two or three times during the season if necessary. Also, other nutrients can be applied with N. The spray height is adjustable to suit the crop. It is available for 20-inch and 30-inch row systems and is programmable to apply variable rates. Nitrogen solution is applied close to the base of the stem without touching the canopy.
REGARDLESS OF THE SEASON, WITH 360 Y-DROP, YOU WIN.
In today's tight market, managing input costs is critical. Nitrogen is typically the second most expensive input. Getting the most efficiency out of this investment is critical. Lowering nitrogen use efficiency from 1.0 to 0.7 can have a huge impact on profitability.
360 Y-DROP lets you wait for your final application so you can adjust rates to match the crop's needs. Wet. Dry. Ideal. You supply only what the plants need - protecting yield potential and reducing overall nitrogen costs.
TIMING AND PLACEMENT MATTER
The corn plant uses 75% of its N after V10. By re-stocking the soil's nitrogen supply later in the season, you are better able to supply only enough to allow the corn to hit your yield goal. Plus, unlike traditional coulter sidedress systems, 360 Y-DROP gives you a much wider application window - more than 30 days from V6 - VT.
Where N is applied is just as important as when it is applied. A corn plant acquires more than 60% of its N within seven inches from the stalk base. With 360 Y-DROP, you apply N right at the base of the plant. This ensures that nearly 80% of the root mass is within the application zone.
AERIAL APPLICATION
AERIAL APPLICATION
Aerial application, or what is informally referred to as crop dusting, involves spraying crops with crop protection products. Our highly effective aerial program includes many potential options: our proprietary spray surfactants, fungicide, slow release nitrogen, micronutrients, herbicides and insecticides are all available. Aerial application program is carefully managed to be hassle free and reliable for our growers. We have a dedicated aircraft through a trusted partner. When our customers need it, it’s available. We also work with the same pilots year after year, which makes for a smooth planning process. We customize your program to give you the best value for your dollar.
